Why Does My Water Taste Like Metal?

If your water tastes like metal, it may have elevated levels of iron, manganese, copper, zinc, or corrosive water with a low pH. If the taste is strongest after the faucet has gone unused for several hours and improves after running the faucet, household plumbing may be contributing to the metallic taste.
